Le Séminaire de Québec (Quebec Seminary) is intimately linked to the history of the City. For more than 350 years, it has acted as a witness and actor in the development of the City. This Institution, deeply involved in the education of Quebec’s youth, has taken a singular path that deserves to be told.
Opened 38 years before the construction of the Château Frontenac began, « La salle publique » (or the “Public Hall”) quickly established itself as « the » place to hold events in Quebec City. After a major renovation, this prestigious venue is now reconnecting to its glorious history.
Now that it has been restored to its former glory, the Salle des Promotions is entering a new chapter with the conversion of the Camille-Roy Pavilion into a state museum. Guided by Jean Brochu’s architectural vision, it remains true to its mission as an event venue: to provide a unique setting for gatherings, exchanges, and reflections on the major issues facing our society.
